Huawei P9 with Leica Dual Cameras launching on 17th August- Sends out Invites

Huawei India has sent out Mediia invites for the launch of their new flagship on August 17th. The P9 comes with a metal unibody, and the highlight is the dual-camera setup, developed in partnership with Leica.

The media invite sent does not specifically mention the device, but is quite clear in what smartphone it plans to launch. It shows two camera lenses, along with the caption — “Change the way you see the world.”

The Leica-certified dual-camera setup at the back is the highlight of the Huawei P9
. The setup includes a pair of 12-megapixel cameras with RGB and Monochrome sensors. This, the company says, is the best to deliver pictures that are high on details, colour and sharpness even in Low-light.

The features of the camera include: Hybrid auto-focus with laser auto-focus, Depth Focus and Contrast Focus.

The Huawei P9 is said to feature a 5.2-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D curved screen. It is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 955 64-bit octa-core processor. The company is rumored to launch two variants of the device, one with 4GB RAM and 64GB in built storage, the other with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage capacity. Both the phones will however come with a memory slot to add in additional storage upto 256GB
The smartphone is equipped with a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging and fingerprint scanner. On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port. On the software front, it runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1.
While the price is still a secret, we are guessing it would be priced anywhere between Rs 35,000 and Rs 40,000
Watch this space for the live launch of the phone on the 17th.
