The All-in-one Epson L-655 series printer- A Review
Few months back Epson launched the L655, one of the company's
top-of-the-line ink tank system printers. While this is the new flagship
printer from the company, it promises users many possibilities as well as
affordable and quality prints.
For these L-series printers, the company often cites
ultra-low-cost printing, high-volume ink bottles, reliable operation, and
Epson-quality results as the key benefits. That being said, today's L655 is no
different. Epson has brought this new printer L655 with many features and it is
a printer that is most suitable for small and home offices.
Epson L655 is bundled with
features that you will otherwise find in premium printers. The L655 has
wireless capabilities to easily print documents and photos without having to
sit on your connected PC. The Wi-Fi Direct is an added bonus, which connects up
to four devices without requiring a router. We had a few issues initially
trying to connect to the Wi-Fi at our place but in the end it worked just fine.
Epson L655 has automatic duplex
printing, which reduces paper wastages. This feature is quite useful in
corporate spaces as wastage of papers is often overlooked.
The L655 comes with Broadcast Fax
and PC-fax features, which we did not have the chance to test. But it is a good
addition, despite the relatively-low usage of faxes these days. The printer can
also be used to scan documents and make photocopies. The L655 is truly an
all-in-one machine.
A few hitches here and there,
where our device did not print all the colours due to a blockage in the inkjet,
which I found disappointing. The service engineer did mention that it must have
been due to the inks drying up, but it took him a good one hour too to fix it.
On the box the company does
mention that it is a printer to print high quality images and prints which is
definitely true. At this range you get a good deal for your money. The mobile
interface too that allows you to print remotely is extremely responsive and
most of the times, I did not even switch on my PC to print. Everything was
through the mobile app.
The inks, last for long and
refilling them does not burn a hole into your pocket. If you are a small organisation
that sees an average of 20-30 prints a day, this is definitely for you. For
your home needs, I would suggest the L455 which is much more compact and easy
to use.
